CIII-DT-29 is powerful enough to cover a large portion of London with a refracted signal. Byron hill is almost 200' above my location and directly in the way but 29.1 is easily viewable almost all the time. 13.1 which is barely 2 edge and not much farther away has a weaker signal and is often trounced by tropo. However, portions of London to the west of here get nothing at all on 29.1.

Just to let you know that Detroit has ION tv on UHF50 which is ch31 which is diff from WKBD CW50 which is on UHF14 DTV.
If your getting ION on DTV31 that is the Ann Arbor ION also on ch31. |

So are you saying that: a) WKBD used to be on rf-50 for many years, but moved to rf-14 as a digital channel? Is it still WKBD? Is it's channel-alias still CH-50? Or is it CH-14? b) Detroit now has an ION station, on rf-50, but it goes by the alias CH-31? What is it's call sign? c) Ann Arbor has had a station on rf-31 for many years, it is still on rf-31, it's alias is CH-31 (no change), and it's call-sign is WPXD, and (by coincidence) it's also an ION affiliate? Did I get all that right? |

If my info is right, Boller "Mountain" is 316 meters above sea level. Pretty much all of Byron along (and to the south of) Baseline is 290 meters. The edge or lip of the quarry is between 280 and 290 except for the south edge, which goes to 310. The road that comes off Commissioner's road at the top of snake hill (Crestwood) is sitting at 310 meters - almost identical to Boller.
My line-of-sight for the CIII global transmitter in Oil Springs passes pretty much directly over Boller mountain and the south-central part of the quarry. I'm about 3 miles east of Boller, with an elevation of 280 meters. So I'm about 1.5 miles and down about 30 meters (100 ft) from the snake-hill ridge. Not great, but I guess it could be worse. |

I get a solid signal strength from 13.1 using a 91XG UHF and a winegard AP4800. This setup works great in London since 10 is so strong but never seems to overload the AP4800 and somehow 13.1 always is stable. I tried a channel master all UHF pre amp but got zero signal from 13.1.

@sumguy99......The Detroit ION tv is using the same calls as the Ann Arbor ION which is WPXD. WPXD is just repeating their signal for the D from WKBD's CW50 tower in Southfield.
