Default Rogers Cable - Missing Channel on New lg 26lv2500

I just purchased a NEW LG 26" (Model # lg 26lv2500) in Buffalo for a great price.

Brought it back to Toronto, where i connected to my ROGERS cable directly to the TV (COAX IN).

Scanned for channels.....
UNDER THE "TV" section...FOUND channels 2-14
UNDER THE CATV section...FOUND channels 15,16,17
and that's it.

On another 2 SAMSUNG TV 10' & 25' away, just using the COAX input..I receive channels 2-60.

I moved the 26" LG to use the same COAX as the SAMSUNG....same few channels found (2-17).

I know ROGERS is requiring everyone to move to the DA very soon...however why would 2 tvs sharing the same connection not receive the same channels.
Especially VIA coax.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

TVs have a setting for antenna or cable. If set to antenna, it won't get all the cable channels in the manner you're experiencing. This is because, on antenna, there's a huge gap between channels 13 and 14, but on cable, the entire spectrum is use, from well below ch 2 to as high as the cable can go.

Under the channels option i've tried to scan individual spectrums (DTV, TV, CATV) or AUTO which goes through all of them.

The result is the same....as stated above.

NTSC tuners uses different settings, STD, HRC and IRC as discussed in this post: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=77782

Check your TV' if its from another country it might be factory set to one of these modes while the cable provider you are using broadcasts ntsc with a different one

Rest assured, if you use one of those Free DTA Adapters from Rogers, it will continue to receive the same channels 2-60 you were before.

i know its the same coax input on both tvs but is it also the same COAX WIRE? or is the different outlet? try the same coax wire on a different TV, it might be bad? just try to narrow it down
