Hey guys !
From your experience, does the Playtation network offer good/great video quality for movie rentals in HD ? I've been unimpressed with Videotron's video quality for HD movies in the past ... I would assume the PlayStation network download would be less compressed !? What do you all think ? I'm looking at a movie that is offered for the same price in both "platform" The extra bandwidth needed to actually download the movie on the PS3 is not an issue for me. Thanks !

If you have a PS3 then you're well equipped to answer that question. Just rent a movie and see if you like the video quality better.

PSN, Vudu and Hulu's SD quality is better than Videotron HD IMO.
Needless to say "SD" rentals on PS3 are 60% less than what Videotron charges for "HD". Cheers, K

IMO stating that any SD source is better than an HD source suggests that;
1. Your connection is not HDMI 2. You might need glasses Last edited by 57; 2012-06-14 at 05:59 PM. Reason: UQR |

I've found that PS3, Xbox 360 and Apple TV have pretty damn excellent HD content available. Videotron was too limited, but the quality was just as good. As long as I don't see distracting blocks and it's in 5.1, I'm happy.
