Default Caller ID no longer works

The last called ID displayed was on Aug. 8 2012, nothing since then. I was told by the help desk that this is a "known problem" in some areas.

While it is comforting to know that I'm not alone, it would be nice if it could be resolved. Anyone have any news on when that might tale place?

Yeah, I've also had this problem a couple of times.

I have the opposite problem.

I have a Panasonic phone that has a call block feature and caller id.

The phone sometimes has something like "Toll free call" and doesn't display a number but the t.v. has the number.

It's annoying that the phone can't block a number if it isn't displayed.

Most of the time they both work.

Well at least I know I'm not alone. Too bad Telus doesn't have anyone looking at these forums to offer suggestions.

I currently have this issue and have had it before. My Caller ID stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When it happened before I called Telus, spoke to several people and after trying everything they could not figure out why it wasn't working. A few days later it just started working again on its own. So this time around I just thought I'd wait to see if it comes back. It's a feature about Optik TV that I actually like to have.

Default It's back!

On Monday the caller id display came back. Telus used to do software upgrades on the weekend, and I suspect this was the case here. Something must have been patched.

Mine still hasn't come back yet. It hasn't worked since August 8th.

Scorpion,
I am in Cord bay and have had the same as you and my last record was Aug 4th.
Called repair last week and they said that there were ID problems in "my area"!!
The girl did a test to my TV and that was OK.
Nothing since then.
We had this issue before.
All phone caller ID is fine.

Hey CordBay,

I'm in the Quadra/McKenzie area. Last time it happened to me the tech people did a test, probably the same that you had. They could send a signal to the TV and have the caller ID box show up but it wouldn't work for regular phone calls. One day it just ended up working again. I'll wait a little longer for them to fix the issue before calling to complain. My phone caller ID still works though. It's good to know I'm not the only one.

I am having the same issue in Abbotsford, BC. I think I will call in to advise them.

I noticed the same thing, the service is working now too. Missed it as the call display comes on before the phone even rings ☺
