my father in-laws place got a power surge which took out several of his appliances. one of which is his 8300HD.
i'm going over to look at it today but just doing a bit of searching for spare parts in advance. Is the PS from an 8300SD compatible with a 8300HD? used SD's are a lot cheaper to scrounge parts from. anybody have parts on this list? I'm in ottawa. Last edited by 57; 2012-04-24 at 01:21 PM. Yes its an internal power supply.
in any case. I fixed it. It was a shorted cap on the 120V side meant to catch spikes. It gave its life to save the rest of the unit. replaced that and the fuse and all is gold. and it turns out its a standard definition and not the HD. but its working now so no issues |
