So, my final wiring config will look like this (?):
-ONT to WAN port on Asus -Lan4 on Asus to AV256 to Coax for STB -Lan3 on Asus to PVR -Lan2 on Asus to STB Thus leaving one port on the Asus available for a hardwired internet connection? Kang |

The only port usable on the Asus for TV service is port 4. You can not use the other ports for TV, they will not work. If you have more than one set top box you need to connect a switch to port 4 and the STBs to it.

OK. I used to have a D-Link 10/100 switch around here somewhere, but it may have been sold in a yard sale. Looks like I'll have to spend another $40 plus tax on a new switch. Thanks for the quick replies.

You may be able to convince the technician to give you a switch, if they are still there.

I asked him about a switch, but he had already used his last one. :-(
Anyway, since I will need another switch on my network, I was thinking of re-purposing my WRT54G running DD-WRT and using that as a switch. Do you foresee any issues with that? Thanks. Kang |

Provided it is not running a DHCP server, it's fine.
