Yes MCIBUS we don't get snow but I was talking about the people who are loosing signals in rain. I don't know whether they loose signal in snow too but it seems like some people are having trouble in rain more than they should.

Default t.v outage

During yesterday rain strom the hi def stations went out but the standard station still worked . This morning here in Niagara nice sunny day the Hi def stations will still out but the standard were still on is the new satellitte that bell launched working. The hi def stations always seem to go out even with a little amount of rain or wind I wondering is my dish or the satellite bell is using for these channels.

Your post was moved to this thread since it's not to do with the uplink thread. Your dish is probably not properly aligned or loose. Either align it yourself or call Bell to do it for you.

If you have lost signal in the Greater Toronto Area this evening, wet sticky snow is the cause.

I just got home to find my satellite down.

As soon as I cleaned the dish off, my signal was back.

Oddly my 1.2m Dish, with a Dish Heater was covered while my 51cm was clear. After investigation, it appears Mrs Pinza used my power outlet for the new Roomba Robot Vacuum Cleaner.....lol Still the floors were nice and clean, so it was not all bad.....

I found the same thing last night as well. I got home near midnight and was not going outside and get a ladder to clean off my dish. There was an advantage, I got some extra sleep.

I have used PAM Cooking Spray in the past to avoid this problem.

I sprayed my dish just before Christmas, and it obviously did not work last night.

I recently replaced a dish for someone at the top of a 30 foot antenna tower, and I sprayed it with PAM. I got an email last night saying they have lost signal too.

Does anyone have another solution?

What is a good product to keep wet, sticky snow from accumulating on satellite dishes?

Thank you.

Pam is not recommended. Although it'll work for a very short time, it gets gummy very quickly and actually makes things worse. The "solution" is to put the dish where it can be relatively easily reached to brush off snow, or perhaps consider a dish cover.

At the top of a 30 foot antenna tower......

There's your problem right there. Unless there is no other viable option that is just.....ready for that word of the week?......asinine.

Tall trees, no other option.

Their Bell dish gets great signal on 82 and 91, even when it's windy.

Honestly, had I done the original installation, the dish would have been placed on the opposite side of the property, further back from the trees, on the chimney.

I offered to move it for them in the spring, once the 30cm of snow on their metal roof has melted.
