I often FF through a recorded game to save time. The playback bar usually covers the game progress/information line on the program. Being able to move or blank the bar would be wonderful.

We used to have the ability to remove the progress bar by hitting the exit button. Unfortunately, they removed that ability with a recent firmware update on the 8300HD. Hitting "exit" only removes it for a second. Here's the thread. They did add the ability to "skip" 15 minutes or more depending on the programme, as well as showing the "time" - perhaps that's why the bar stays up.
