Seems like a stupid question but I will ask anyhow.
Is it possible to cancel shaw's internel and cable services but still keep the @shaw.ca email addresses, even for a fee? |

Yes, you can cancel everything and still keep email intact. It'll cost you 5.95 a month.

Doubtful. You would need a primary pkg on your account. Call them.

Shaw mail
Yes, you can cancel everything and still keep email intact. It'll cost you 5.95 a month. --- they do not do this anymore. The only time they would do this is if you are just temporarily suspend your cable and internet service since say you will be out of the country for a period of time but still want to have your email address active. And suspending services is only good for a max of 6 months outright cancellation, you have to transfer your email address to another shaw acct (i.e. friends or relative) that has an active internet acct. |

Just cancelled my shaw service after 14 years and I was told that I can not keep the shaw email anymore.

You can transfer your email account onto a friends Shaw account. Shaw needs their verbal permission to do this.

As the previous poster said, it can be moved to a friends account who has Shaw. I did that for a friend who changed to TELUS, but needed to continue to get her Shaw emails. This is why I always tell people never to use ISP provided email addresses.

I did that for a move in the past, worked well. Now I'm in the same boat, darn e-mail gotcha! LOL! Too many price increases!

Yeah, I thought about doing this, but then what happens when your 'friend' wants to switch from Shaw to Telus? Too much of a pain.
I pay an extra $8 a month to have my Shaw internet separate from my Telus internet (I pay $55 for Shaw High Speed 20 vs $47 for a compareable Telus service at the bundled price) and it's all working out just fine. I figure I'll probably be switching back to Shaw again in about 5 years anyway, so it will be convenient for that! |
