In ICS-Ice Cream sandwich you can check and monitor your data usage,setup warnings and even cause it to disable mobile data once u hit your cap, as well it will tell u which apps are the piggies...

Settings-Wireless and networks-Data Usage on my GS3 should be similar on yours.. For me Dolphin browser is my big user.

I use 3g watchdog i think it was 2.99 for the pay app it helps to show data usage. also has extra features that will disable the mobile network when usuage is passed
