AFF if the #s are the same then how do you tell it to give you the HD or SD channel? Like what if the rcvr is HD so it wants to display the HD channel but youre having trouble with the 82 sat and you want to see the SD chan. on 91?

One of the only things I like about Eastlink cable is that if you put it on an SD channel, and there is an HD version available it will say "Watch this in HD", you click it and voila, you're on the HD channel.

Maybe I don't want to watch a show in HD. Some programs don't gain a thing when you do so. SD is just fine. The news channels come to mind for example. CBC NN and CTV NC look just fine in SD thank you and most of their real content is still SD. I'd find that kind of message to be a form of heckling and very annoying.

Eventually everything is going to be in HD anyways, so might as well embrace it now lol

There are 2 300's for example, and if you select only the HD by hitting the guide button again only the HD shows up.

Rogers also has Auto-HD for some channels. You select channel 8 (CTV-SD Toronto) on an HD STB and it gives you CTV-HD automatically. If you want the SD version for some reason it's somewhere else on the dial with all the timeshift CTV-SD channels. Of course, some people are never satisfied.
