I thought I saw somewhere that you can transfer your programs from your old pvr to your new pvr, is this possible? Can anyone direct me to where i can learn how to do it?

i'm just trying to transfer from a 9242 to another 9242. Then i need to transfer from a 9200 to a 9241. Should i just be buying some external hard drives ans transferring onto these?

I don't think that the USB port on the 9200 is even active, so you're probably out of luck with that one.
