In Stouffville, ION is 24/7 365 with an outdoor antenna. All winter 6/10 bars, summer is 10/10 bars for me. I just wish i could get WBBZ reliably.

^^ Sure, rub it in. lol
So, what you guys are saying is that I need to buy a better location to put under my antenna? Yeah, that's not expensive. @Tom-I'm sure you are only messing with me, but I am completely happy with the install. I thought for sure that during the winter months with all that windy weather we have had that I would need to call you back to re-align or something, but nope, everything is still working. Keep in mind, I only know about ION due to the great equipment selection between Grace and you. Ok, another question, how about getting radio channels to work in my WMC? What do I need to do? Kirk |

Kirk, I get ION about 50% of the time in my location. Trust me, unless you are a hardcore Criminal Minds or Flashpoint fan, you aren't missing much. It's biggest value to many is to increase their channels scanned count by 4.

ION also carries WWE live programming not available elsewhere.

Would love to get the wife Style by Jury and there were a couple more titles that I cannot think of right now.
Ok, new plan then. Tom, we need a mount to clear the height of the CN-Tower so we can get LOS to ION. |

Hi there,
I have been running a CM4221 (original not HD version) for a few years now in the attic in Mississauga (postal L5V) with a Winegard AP4700 pre-amp feeding 2 TV's. I have been getting most channels consistently with a few exceptions. Ch2 (NBC WGRZ) sometimes drops out - mostly in the winter. I do not get ION and ch26.1-4 are also intermittent. The antenna is pointing to Grand Island. I was wondering if changing the antenna to a db4e will help stablize WGRZ and also bring in ION? On the specs it looks better - 65 miles vs 45 miles / 60 degree beam width vs 45 degrees. I just set up an attic install of the DB4e at a friend's in Clarkson and was impressed that he got all the channels I got considering he is closer to the lake, lower elevation an a wider spread between the CN Tower and Grand Island. What are you thoughts between the CM 4221 and the Antenna Direct DB4e?

To get those stations more reliably you would have to move antenna outside.I have DB4e outside and do not have problems with channels you mentioned except Ion which I get only in the summer.

My DB4e is also outside on the roof and I find it is quite good in terms of reception in picking up distance stations from Mississauga.

Even better, why not get the new DB8e ? I upgraded from a DB8 just over a week ago
and the DB8e is one awesome antenna. All my stations are stronger now. Before i'd get 51-ION, 8- Rochester and 26 - Jamestown only on a few evenings of good tropo in the summer. Now, i get ION in the mornings and evenings on most days. On the few warm days last week, i also got 27 - Global (repeater), 8 & 31 in Rochester and, 54 - WQLN in Erie, Pennsylvania !!!
