I have created a new photo album, http://http://www.digitalhome.ca/for...p?albumid=1218 that may be of interest to anyone considering building the DBGH8n3 in nikiml's 3D interactive model at http://http://clients.teksavvy.com/~...12V4_17u9.html. Views of the antenna with the dimensions spread over several pages helps me design and assemble the framework for a new antenna. Each image can be enlarged during printing to fill a full page. Or, click on unclesam's name, choose View Public Profile and you will see all his public photo albums, including the one in question.

After 6 weeks of building ( on some weekends and occasional evenings) my DBGH4n3 is finished and was put into test mode this evening. It is not yet on a mast. It is simply sitting on the ground hooked up temporarily. It is pointed at Buffalo and has lock on all of the Buffalo channels - 50 to 82 miles - including WBBZ on RF7.
Unless this is tropo reception, this is the definition of success! Hopefully the weather and other chores will cooperate and I will be able to put it on a mast and the rotor in a few days. More in a few days.

I have created a photo album GH10n3 Sketchbook, http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/album.php?albumid=1234, views and data copied from nikiml's interactive 3D model http://clients.teksavvy.com/~nickm/g..._9V7_15u0.html. The data is spread over a number of pages as an aid to designing and building the framework for this antenna. The pages can be expanded during printing so that each will fill a page. If link does not work, click on my username, then on new page that appears, under tab "albums," click on "show all albums," scroll to find this one. Unclesam |

A correction for the link to the album I recently created that contains views and data copied from nikiml's copyrighted web page at http://clients.teksavvy.com/~nickm/d...12V4_17u9.html. Offered as an aid to anyone wishing to build a big-boy antenna,
album is at http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/album.php?albumid=1218. If link does not work, click on my username, on the new page that appears, under tab "albums," click on "show all albums," scroll to find this one. Lesson learned: actually test any links in a posting during the "preview post." Unclesam |
