The new WWE Network will be coming to Rogers. WWE & Rogers signed a 10 year agreement to carry the online network as a pay tv channel. Rogers will distribute the channel to other providers across Canada. No idea what this means for WWE Network in Canada via video game systems or the WWE website as nothing like that was announced. Also no idea what this means for the VOD content WWE Network offers to subscribers.
Are you ready to rumble? The WWE Network is here in HD, featuring all 12 LIVE WWE pay-per-view events, exclusive groundbreaking original series, never before seen documentaries, and much more. And until March 22nd, Bell Satellite and Fibe TV subscribers get access to a free preview on channel 1446!
MTS has added WWE Network on Channel 528 (SD) / 1528 (HD)
Free Preview March 19 – March 23, 2015
Subject to a minimum 30-day subscription after March 23.
Here's the latest info from the WWE link above (they didn't mention MTS) :
WWE Network is now available in Canada on Rogers Cable, Shaw, Shaw Direct, Eastlink, Bell, Telus Satellite and Videotron.
Coming Soon:
Cogeco Cable Canada - March 24
TELUS Optik TV - March 25
If you are subscribed to WWE Network through your TV Provider you can now enjoy WWE Network on your PC or mobile device. Click here to get started!
So will Cogeco/Telus Optik TV be getting a free preview too, and will it occur during Wrestlemania weekend? That would be a nice consolation prize for having to wait so long for it.
Got an e-mail from Bell Aliant saying the WWE Network would officially launch on March 31. However, if you want the network for Wrestlemania 31, you have to call them at 1-866-FibreOP (1-866-342-7367) between March 25th at 9am - March 28th at 5pm to order.
Still no WWE Network for: Access Communications, Cable Axion, Cablevision, DERYtelecom, Novus Entertainment, MTS, SaskTel Max, Telus Thunder Bay Telephone, Vmedia
With all due respect, the above are all minor/local cable companies. The big names have all come to an agreement for the network.
FWIW: Cogeco launches March 24.
Also I believe the former Cable Cable territory in Hamilton that was purchased by Rogers doesn't have the network yet. Lots of discrepancies between what is available in the Hammer and the rest of the GTA until Rogers is fully able to convert/rebuild that network to match the rest of Southern Ontario.
I find Bell Aliant's marketing of the WWE Network to be odd. Considering the channel costs $11.99 a month, you would think they would do more to promote it. They made one Facebook post about it a month ago. There's nothing about it on the many info channels in their guide. The only way you would know the channel is coming is via an e-mail, which for some people, might have ended up in a spam bin. Even if you saw the e-mail, it was announced in a small column near the bottom.
Even then, you have to call Aliant for early access between this Wednesday and Friday to order it before Wrestlemania. I am assuming they want people to order Wrestlemania on PPV then order the network afterward, which they will probably promote more heavily. Ironically, the WWE announcers like to tell people they are stupid for paying $65 for PPV while saying the WWE Network is much cheaper.
Either way, I will order it this week. Hopefully, Aliant will also offer on demand content.
Unless your provider is Bell, since there is no way to link your Bell account to your WWE Network account. I hope this is something that is fixed soon as the VOD content is the main reason to subscribe. Without it I will probably not be keeping the Network through those lean months and will just subscribe for the major events.
So I called Bell Aliant to order the WWE Network. The CSR told me that I would get the network on Saturday, March 28. Maybe I misread the notice but I assumed if I called early, I would get the network right away. I didn't realize I wouldn't get it until Saturday. Hopefully, nothing goes wrong and I get the network in time for the Hall of Fame ceremonies and Wrestlemania.
I signed up for WWE network on Cogeco, but when I try to access the content on WWE.com I get not Authorized.. I contacted Cogeco and was told that WWE Network is "available" but hasn't been launched till the 26th.. Going to try calling back again..
Checked my cable box this afternoon and found the WWE Network on Channel 638 on Bell Aliant. The first thing I saw on the network was Wrestlemania VI from Toronto. All we need now are access to the archives, either on their website, through Bell Aliant's on demand service or through a streaming device.
I was able to log in to wwe.com today with my Cogeco account. I have full access to the WWE Network on their website plus have WWE Network on Channel 427.. Hopefully Z-Man they will add your provider.
So as it stands now, Bell TV has the WWE Network on Channel 1446, but no online access as of yet.
Talked to the Customer Support and was told they are in negotiations to get the online access and will let everyone know when they get it....Typical Bell, always in negotiations...lol
Just checked "On Demand" with Cogeco and they have WWE Network listed. They have the 12 Pay Per Views and each one has the last 3 years in it. Only one missing is Fast Lane from this year.
I wrote to WWE yesterday and actually got a reply today, posted below.
My concern was as a Bell TV subscriber and paying $11.99 for the WWE Network,
why could i not access it?
As well the WWE website clearly shows Bell and their logo for the WWE Network and online. Only when you try to enter your credentials does the Bell logo disapear. False advertising for sure.
BTW, i am cancelling immediately.
Below is WWE reply...
Thanks for writing in.
We understand that you want to access the subscription that you purchased via Bell online as well. We're sorry if this feature is not yet available for Bell customers at this time. We're working to make this feature available for all TV providers who distribute WWE Network in Canada. We appreciate your patience regarding this matter. We apologize if we can't give you a time frame on when this feature will be launched for Bell customers but we can assure you that we're working with Bell to have the mobile and online access available for you. Please check our web site from time to time for any updates.
Thanks again for your patience.
If further assistance is needed, please feel free to reply to this email, speak with WWE Network Support by calling 1-866-308-5684 (US), 512-225-6300 (International) (available weekdays from 12 PM-11 PM ET and Pay-Per-View event days from 1PM-2AM ET), or use our convenient Live Chat feature.
It's really annoying and frankly after Extreme Rules I will likely cancel my subscription until Bell gets the VOD stuff. It's not worth it for $12 a month to have just the feed with all the repeats they show on it.
I don't see what could be causing the delay, it's not like Bell doesn't have a similar system set up elsewhere. TMN Go, TSN Go, CraveTV, etc. They may all be Bell channels/services but they all require using a Bell username/password. Can the requirement to connect a WWE account to a Bell account be THAT much different?
I heard about this network. It sounds interesting.
