Rogers will probably be adding some channels soon as they just removed anywhere from 4-5 analogs in the past week and about 4-5 more will be removed in late June.
Rogers pretty much carries all of Shaw's current HD channels. I expect that all the Shaw Media channels and Corus channels will be available soon.
I wonder if some moderator/admin would move all the info in the different pages right to the top of the first page so people don't need to go looking for missing channels for their provider.
BKman74, good idea, but it's probably best to let the situation stabilize since there are so many new HD channels being added and individual providers are adding HD channels to their lineups.
Don't believe the propaganda. They do not have the most HD in Canada. They only arrive that 210 because of the 30x PPV and 30x Sports PPV channels and the endless amounts of locals.
Pretty much any land based provider (Other than Shaw) has a way better selection of HD channels.
Out of that list Shear Force provided only that adult channel Skinemax HD is really new. All the others are basically HD version of the SD ones. As for this Skinemax this is the first time I heard of it? It Shaw the only one carrying this channel?
Also that link doesn't show 210 HD channels either. I want to see the exact 210 channels they added.
They didn't add 210 NEW HD channels, they added about 120 to the existing 90 or so that they already carried.
The list that link shows includes the 30 or so HD channels that are "real" channels. the rest include 30+ Sports PPV, several new HD PPV, and around 50 HD Locals.
So to be clear, if you've followed that link, you ARE seeing them all. It's hard to show all the other fluff when it's part-time sports and PPV that can be summed up with a couple of logos.
Depends on ones view on whats "real'. True these HD ones(not PPV but specialty ones)might be new to SD but more or less there HD version of the SD ones. The only one I see "really New" as there was no SD or HD version is that Adult one Skinemax. Thats the first I've heard of it. Not sure if any other provider is carring it or not.
Like I said true SD has added 120+ HD channels and depending on how one views channel counting as to what is a "real" channel IE Slice HD vs a HD PPV(sports)channel?
But that a side at least to me the only one I found actually new (didn't exist before Yesterday) was that Skinemax adult channel. I find it odd they add this channel but not Playboy HD which they've been carrying the SD version for sometime?
And although I no longer have SD(Dec 2007 I think thats when I got rid of it) its nice to see SD subs getting way more HD channels. It may not be every HD channel everyone wanted, but some HD channels added is better then having no HD channels added?
I am so glad I post 99% of the time in the Bell TV threads, having the abbreviation "SD" meaning Shaw Direct AND Standard Definition in one post is just too hard to fathom......lol
Eastlink still doesn't have Slice HD or H2 HD, but the recent addition of Lifetime HD to Eastlink's lineup hopefully means that those two missing HD Shaw channels will be added in the near future.
Well, that didn't take long! Eastlink added H2 HD, Slice HD, and as an added bonus, Rewind HD and Rural HD today. I think Eastlink may be the first company to carry Rewind HD.
I'm not certain, but I think Eastlink my be the provider with the most HD available to its subs. They carry a couple not available on any other provider(that I'm aware of) IE Bloomberg HD.
What about MTS TV? I can't find anywhere in this thread a list of HD channels which MTS TV is missing. Their channel lineup is listed here, and they seem to have a lot more HD channels that Shaw.
Also, is there a thread anywhere listing french HD channels (or missing french HD channels) by provider (esp. outside Quebec)?
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
