Recently have notice a nuisance lag when changing channels. The problem I believe is some channels broadcasting different HD formats.

I turned of cable box then went into settings and adjusted so that only 1080i had a yes with everything else a no. This seems to help.

Can having just the 1080i set be a problem somehow?

No, that's fine, although there may be a very slight difference in quality that most people don't notice. Here are some FAQs on the topic:

Got a yellow light on my box last night. Today the light is gone but apparently there was an update.

S/W Version 79.66
F/W Version 30.66

If anyone could see what's different, I'd be interested in knowing.

Default RNG200N Recording problems

Owner of one of these Pace units, about 13 months old. Over the last week or so, been noticing that recorded programs are having playback issues. On occasion, playback hangs up for a few seconds, then resumes...in some instances the picture will pixelate. On other occasions, the program will jump to the end. Discoverd this wasn't happening just on recent recordings...older recordings display similar behaviour. Scanned the thread & tried unplugging as suggested but still happens. Live programs are okay after a reboot, but start hanging after watching a recorded program. Try another reboot, live programs run fine but start hanging again after (trying to) watch a recorded program. I have an older Motarola box that's running fine, tried recording the same program on both boxes...Motorola is okay, Pace unit acts up. Is this symptomatic of a failing hard drive? Thanks.

Sounds like it, but could also be a poor signal at the STB. Try swapping the Motorola and Pace STBs. Here's the FAQ to check signal. Also make sure the connections are good and perhaps temporarily move the Pace to a location as close as possible to the demarcation point in your home without any upstream splitters to see if it happens there.

Have noticed a sound problem which began about a month back (I think). What happens is when you change channels or fast forward a recording when the sound comes back on it is lower in volume and gradually goes back to normal.

Is this something others have experienced? Could it be the box, I have adjusted all the audio settings on both the TV and the PVR but it doesn't change. I wondered if this was a software change.

Thanks. I originally thought it may be a signal problem, but when this started happening with programs recorded a long time ago (and previously had no playback issues), I disregarded that as a possibility. Nonetheless, I should check so I can stroke that off the list. I'll try when I get home tonight. Thanks again.

Checked the diagnostic screen on the Pace unit. All values indicate 'GOOD' except 'UPSTREAM LVL 56 - FAIR'. Did a search but can't seem to find what that means. Anyone know? Thanks. Oh, and bypassed splitter...problem still exists. Both tuners. Thanks.
