I just ported my landline to voip.ms a week ago. I got some wired problem. I am using chicago server and SPA112 with update firmware. I am using the value routing so no callerID on my outbound calls. When I dailed a call to my celll phone (416) Toronto number I would receive a call from a Unknown caller (my home number) which is correct. If I do not answer the call and hang up immediately , within a minute another call will come in from the same number with callerID which I think it is from the premium routing. It happened a quite a few times already. Anyone has any clue why does it happen?
Thanks. |

Never seen this happen, but value routing does not mean no caller id - it just means caller id is not guaranteed to work. I use value routing and caller id has always worked when I phoned elsewhere.

Hello
This is documented, on the following link: http://wiki.voip.ms/article/Caller_ID "On a side note, outgoing Caller ID is not guaranteed on calls to Canada cell lines, even when using premium route, this happens because of the way the Canada Carriers work, where they sometimes pass a random Caller ID that they have on record and change the original. This somehow out of control as its the way the Canada carriers handle the calls to cell lines." I hope this helps, thank you and have good day |

I have a similar issue. The response from support was that they're working on it. Anyone knows how long has this been an issue for?

Don't know how long, but apparently their Canadian servers are at capacity and they are in the process of upgrading them. Even if you use a U.S. server, if you have a Canadian DID then it first goes to a Canadian server. So all these relatively recent issues may be related. At least I hope so.

Pretty much all my problems have gone away since I moved to a US server (I think chicago). The only issue now is that many 1-800 numbers no longer works as they are meant to be used from Canada and it thinks I'm in the US. No issues as I just use my cell phone for those.
