Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe there are bodies up that mountain which have never been recovered. Makes for a morbid climb....

Nonetheless, I agree: There should be insurance, or your estate should pay for the recovery of your remains should you die by misadventure in risky activities.

This touches on another similar subject: The repatriation of "Canadians" who live permanently abroad, and find themselves in trouble when war or disaster strikes. Then our government is on the hook to help them get out of trouble, even though they no longer live in Canada.

The troubles in Lebanon a little while back is a good example.

You are correct. Because it's essentially a desert up there, the bodies are literally mummified. This link is gruesome but gives you a sense of what is up there.
