I laugh almost every day during my dealings with Bell. If I didn't I would cry.......
Many years ago, I had to call the EDD (ExpressVu Dispatch Desk) to advise them that a Tech would not be able to finish his call, as it was approaching 9pm and the light in Nimiq 1 goes out at 9pm, so the Tech would not be able to see it. She duly noted my reasons on her computer and called the Customer to reschedule. Her parting comment was , "thanks for that, I always wondered how the Technicians 'saw' the Satellite, now I know"...... I got myself suspended for 3 days for that smart ass comment......lol |

Hi Pinza. That was a very funny comment regarding seeing Nimiq1's light.
I have a question about roof mounts. Where can I purchase the very pointy bolts that Bell uses with the rubber grommet? I see these all the time when I remove dishes, and I save them for future installs, I just cannot find them in the store. I live in the Greater Toronto Area. Also, FYI for everyone else, the Red weatherproof membrane used for roof installs can be purchased at RONA. It's called Red Zone Membrane made by Resisto. Thank you. |

I had Star Choice about 12 years ago, they went and fastened the RG6 cable to the roof all the way following a metal valley like trough between 2 slopes where water ran off, screwed in every few feet all the way up and down the other side!! with then silicone on the screw, friggen idiots, I redid the roof a few years ago anyways, and do not have dish anymore, but that install was done by dumb and dumber, my wife was at home and didnt know any better, but they should have put the rg6 under the overhang at least!!

I have found that most houses I've went to that had Shaw installs looked like it was done by a drunken monkey just opened his back doors backed up really fast slammed on the brakes and got the hell out of Dodge.
We had a guy hired on that used to work for Shaw. They stuck him with me one of the 5 days of training that he lasted. If I didn't have him directly tasked with something he was pretty much by my van smoking cigarettes on the job. He didn't make it because he said having things like accountability, quality control and taking pics of your work to CYA was complete BS. Just shaking my head at that one. Not saying that's how they all are but that's been the extent of my dealings. |
