Question July Onward?

I'm just curious as to what BTV has planned after July?

I know two things by then N6 should be up and operating and by late Aug more locals(no sure how many or if everyone will receive them or not) either then that not sure whaqt BTV has planned.

Heard "rumor" that changes might be coming to the New Packages(locals being re-added to the ones taken away) I hope so. Personally I think ALL the locals(French & English() should be given to everyone regardles where your located.

I'm not sure why BTV offers Quebec a different packaging(Pick your own channels) compared to other provinces? But I hope this comes to everyone.

Any thoughts?

July onwards... Expect another hike in your bill by December for sure.

This is because Bell's biggest competitor in Quebec is Videotron. And Videotron has the a la carte system which they took from Look TV. I remember having Look TV and a Videotron guy caming and literally knock on my door saying Look TV was going bankrupt. Look did eventually go bankrupt several years after. Videotron is too big and wiggled out of that one.

So Bell is being aggressive, dropped theme packs and went to the a la carte option. Furthermore they are attacking with their IPTV service FIBE TV.

And they are buying content like crazy, Habs, MLSE, ASTRAL.

And to boot they now are offering some big time crazy deals if people sign up with FIBE TV, Internet and Phone service. Their Internet 50/50 250 Gig is $40 in a bundle and if you keep all 3 services.

Like I have said in another thread, Bell will only change their packages in Ont. if Rogers changes theirs.

Check out post #62 and others for Bell offerings

Question

Well I can't comment on the Fibe TV?Quebec programing as I don't have it or live there or is yet available in ttawa.

I'm not sure of BTV or I should say Bell Media's plans for buying things (IE Astral)why exactly their doing this.

I only hope we get as many HD & SD channels as possible between July & Dec.Only time will tell.

The funny part is true I'm well aware of BTV's price increases but all providers are doing this so regardless of you switch to(excluding OTA or this getting TV/Channels over the computer thing) you'll ger those increases.

Come OCT my "enternaiment price" will go up, then down brecause of bundling and getting a free PVR. In anycase come OCT I'll almost be rid of Rogers at least for Cable,Phone, & internet. July 2013 will be Victory Day as then I'll truely be rid of Rogers Cell wil be switch to Bell Mobility.

I too hope that Bell adds more channels. Not just locals.

As for the programming in Quebec FIBE TV and Bell TV have minor differences.
Bell is buying alot of content for their mobile service. RDS with all 82 habs games is worth 300 millions, without them it is worth 75 millions. So Bell invested and bought 18% of the Montreal Canadians. And now they have more Content For TSN,TSN2 and TSN Montreal.

Concerning a la. Carter Bell will offer it if other providers do. Take for example cell phone. BELL has matched what other companies have done with the exception of Wind and Mobilicity.

We have a pricing/packages thread, several new channel threads, an N6 thread, etc. I see no particular reason for this thread, so I'm closing.
