Default July 1 isn't just Canada Day, it's also....

DTS 7.1 Day!

http://www.celebratesevenone.com/

DTS was honored in its hometown of Agoura Hills, California with this:

proclaiming July 1, or 7/1, DTS 7.1 Day.

7/1, 7.1...isn't that just the clever-est?

Yay.

For our Newfoundland and Labrador members, this day has an additional and more solemn meaning, this day is also known as Memorial Day and marks the anniversary of the fighting at Beaumont-Hamel during the First World War.
Of the 801 Newfoundlanders who went into battle that morning, only 68 were able to answer the roll call the next day.

The incredible sacrifices of the men of the 1st Newfoundland Regiment at Beaumont-Hamel still echo in Newfoundland and Labrador. The citizens of the province pause July 1 to remember those who gave so much to help protect the peace and freedom people in our country enjoy today.

July 1st also called Newfoundland's saddest day....

Indeed a sad day. I visited the site and others in the area in 2001. My Grandfather was killed at nearby Courcelette. I was originally supposed to fly over on another sad day, 911.
