To me, the value in the acid test is that it seems to have become a de facto benchmark, and standards are critically important if competition is to flourish and drive innovation.

IE8 supports Acid2 and I think Safari and Opera is only the browser to pass Acid3 test.

I noticed on the Internet Explorer 8 site that under their Frequently Asked Questions section, the No.1 question is "How do I UNINSTALL Internet Explorer 8?"
Not a good sign............ |

i've never liked i.e at all.
back in the day, 1998-2002 i use to use netscape navigator, then out came the netscape communicator, then for a year or so i began the opera browser (was the best available then), had to pay to get rid of the advertisment and have full size-- did that, was worth it at the time... now, for the past several years i've been hooked on mozilla firefox-- the best free browser available IMO by far, superior to I.E in terms of security and speed, can restore my tabs and i never freeze or crash... |
