Default Last Chance Harvey... worth watching?

I got that disc on BD and still sealed. I can't seem to find anybody in my circle who have seen that movie. Is it worth owning or is it a rental?

I would say a rental. Two fine performances by two great actors.

I saw it at the Whistler Film Festival last year. It's a nice romantic comedy for adults. What does 'worth owning" mean? I'm not likely to watch it more than once.

well, something like "Love, Actually", I've watched it more than a handful of times. I'm just wondering whether this movie is worth watching and if it is, whether there is any repeatability value in it.

It's a fairly average romantic comedy that could have been improved with a recast of the male lead (IMHO). Dustin Hoffman doesn't have the charisma to pull off a romantic leading role like this - I was never convinced that Emma Thompson would have fallen for any aspect of him. A friend and I went and afterward we were trying to come up with someone we thought would have been better in the role and we both agreed that someone like Al Pacino would have been much more suited.

Outside of that, it's worth a look. Emma almost has enough charm for the both of them. :-)

I love "Love, Actually" too but Last Chance Harvey is a "watch once" deal for me, not a keeper.

Perect then, that means we have a similar taste in movies, so I can just return the disc and just rent it instead.

It's a matter of opinion of course but I struggle through "girl movies" and Last Chance Harvey was a very, very, pleasant surprise. I could watch it more than once, actually. Al Pacino is a great actor, like Dustin Hoffman. He'd be a disaster in this movie though -- like plunking Hoffman into Heat with De Niro. Emma Thomson does a great job -- then she usually does.
