Default Toshiba 52XV645U

I'm thinking of buying this TV, a 52" Toshiba, but i've read it does 120hz only in interlaced mode.. Are all lcds like that or is it a 'fake' 120hz TV?
Anyone bought it? How is it?

Thanks,

Vincent

Not sure about your question but I saw the set today and am comparing it to the Toshiba 650U. I was hoping it would be a knock your socks off picture but I didn't think it was as nice as the 650.
I know the picture quality of sets changes depending on what store you visit so I want to check out at least two more before deciding .
Good Luck
Craig

Isn't 120hz in interlaced mode the same as 60hz non-interlaced..? Well anyways, if i'm wrong, i'd like to understand what's the correct logic..
Yeah sometimes they connect too many TVs on the same signal, or on old analog connections.. And they make good TVs look as bad as any other..

Thanks, i'll be posting here if i make up my mind about the tv

A TV capable of 120Hz is a recent model displaying in 1080p. Therefore the incoming signal can be anything (HD, that is). The 60Hz frame rate gets doubled by the TV.

My new TV uses 240HZ as a frame rate (from 60 fps to 240 fps). Watching hockey, there's no longer blurred movements (or ghosting) by the players, when the camera is still (instead of panning with the movements).

120hz non-interlaced is good.. I've seen the blurred movements you're talking about on many 60hz TV, and that's why i'm looking for a 120hz TV
But 120hz interlaced means only half of the picture is displayed every 1/120th of a second. In other words, to display the full picture, you need 2/120th of a seconds, which is the same as having a full picture at 60hz...

My SA8300HD DVR is configured to transmit 1080i @ 60 Hz to my 1080p 240 Hz TV... My post was telling you of my experience with the 240 Hz AMP ON and OFF.

My TV converts the 1080i image to 1080p progressive and applies the 240 fps feature. Not a problem.
