The X65 units are of less amp quality than the models they replace. Taking a page out of the Onkyo marketing plan, Yamaha is hitting the same pricepoint for the new models by raising the rail voltage and lowering total amperage.
Result - old models sound better (especially for stereo listening). An early 90's and 80's, Yahama receiver has better SQ than the newer units (same goes for Onkyo). |
