You can still solve the HDMI problem by adding an HDMI switch, check monoprice for an idea of what you can get. I think you may get up to 5 now.

I agree that an HDMI switch is a good idea. # of HDMI inputs is mostly for convenience, and in my opinion, shouldn't even be a deciding factor in purchasing AVRs. I've looked at the options in my price range, and while the Sony STRDG-910 has three HDMI inputs, it doesn't quite measure up to the Denon AVR-788 in areas that matter.

Hello all,

I have my humble Home Theater set up, now comes some fine tuning. This is my first experience with any AV set-up so I am looking for advice.

I have the following equipment and would like to know suggested audio settings on the receiver for each activity.
All are connected via HDMI except for Apple TV audio which is Digital Optical to the 605

Sharp LC42D64U
Onkyo SR605 Receiver
Apple TV
DCT 6416 PVR
Sharp Blu Ray
2 Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 Speakers
1 Wharfedale Diamond Center Channel
1 Wharfedale SW150 SubWoofer.

Activities I do are:
Watch TV through PVR Cab/Sat ( I think I set it to DTS)
Watch DVD through BluRay (DVD) (Neo 6: Cinema)
Watch movies on Apple TV (Gam/TV)
Listen to music on Apple TV (Gam/TV)

I think these are set through Listening Modes?
