I am purchasing a Samsung 4661F tomorrow and need some help on which cables to purchase for my set up. Right now we just have *C Navigo 401 and Toshiba SD-2900 DVD player.
Will the cables we are using now[yellow, red, white] work with this TV? If we up grade to a *C 505 what cables should we use for that kind of set up. I hope this is the right place for this question. Its really late at night and I can't seem to find the appropriate place. Any help would be great. |

Your new TV should take any input cable from composite, S-Video, component, but your immediate need is to get the best possible from your 401 and DVD player. The 401 has composite and S-Video outputs. Use the S-Video if possible. It has toslink audio, so use that if you run the audio through an appropriate A/V. Otherwise, red/white audio to the TV is fine.
Your DVD player may have component outputs. If it does, use that. So, it all depends on what your other appliances are using as outputs. |

Here are the various options. You should use the "best" connection between any two devices. Remember that video and sound travel separtely, except for HDMI.
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=17716 HDMI should not be considered superior to component video, but can be used provided you don't run into issues. See: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=71112 See also: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=57741
