Lots of Signal, No Picture... - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

Hopefully someone can help. Have a DSR317 and new dish that I have to install myself. I can get a signal strength that hovers around 80 while on channel 299, but no picture or sound. And as soon as i switch off of 299 the signal strength drops to 15 or less. Go back to 299 and it comes back, but still no picture or anything. Oh, and the guide loads after a little while to. Receiver does work, cause I tried it at another place and it worked fine. Hope someone can suggest something cause I am pulling out what is left of my hair trying to get this thing up and running. Thanks.

Put receiver on ch315 (F1 channel) and align and peak to that channel should have proper lineup after that, good luck.
Sounds like you got F2 instead of F1 targeted.

The the receiver is new too? Or just the dish? You might have to call *C to get the correct channel mapping if you replaced an old round dish with a new elliptical dish.

Ya, sorry...the receiver is new as well. I'll try the channel 315 thing next time I get a chance.
