Hi DHC'rs....
Do u think there is a market for buying/renting a 360 while your's is getting 'fixed'? It's going to cost me about $180 (IIRC) to get my xbox 'fixed' or replaced by MS because of the 'dirty disc error' that keeps on popping up. I'm thinking about proposing a 'co-op' of DHC'rs who want to have a spare system on hand while their's is off for 4-8 weeks getting serviced. For myself, I'm thinking about buying a $399 system to use, as my present system is driving me bonkers..... I'll send my present system in to get fixed (not warrantied, as it's not RROD), and then selling the refurb'd one (I presume it will have a 90+ day warranty from MS) to a DHC'r who wants to have one to use while there system is away getting fixed. They can then pass it on for close to their buying price.... I'm thinking $300 cash is a good price for a MS refurb'd system.... Maybe using ebay ID's and DHC posts as a sorta reference system to try to avoid scams.... Emphasis on dealing locally to try to avoid scams.... Any thoughts? P

4-8 weeks? I only experienced that when they moved to the receiving centre in Vaughan and were getting lost. Most turn around time has been 1 week for me. I've gone through many refurbs, and eventually got a working one, but that's cause I was assigned my own personal rep, no more 18004MYXbox standard reps.

I would think the dirty disc error can be easily fixed, he'll probably just crack open the 360 and replace the drive in there and then repair the drive later for future similar repair issues with other customers.

Replacing a drive is very easy, but the drives are expensive ($100+).
