16x9 in the wii - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

I have component cables going from my wii to my tv, yet for some reason my tv will only allow sidebar/zoom/stretch/side stretch. This is odd because for every other source (dvd, hd box, etc) it would have an option for full screeen (thus if the source supported 16x9, it would display it fuller). I find on my wii I have to use the side stretch feature all the time.
Does any one else notice this?

P.S, I have changed the settings in the wii to allow 480p & 16x9.
