Hi everyone.
I have decided to go with Sirius and need opinions/options for install. I was looking at an expensive Alpine double din head unit and gave my head a shake. I had the 'ol "well I'll need a new head unit......but then new speakers to get the most of the head unit.....might as well add an amp if I'm gonna do that" routine. Next thing you know it I am +$2000.00. I decided not pump that much money into a 6 year old truck....especially one my wife drives most of the time. Requirements: -relatively clean install ie. no mess of wires and power adaptors -don't need mp3 capability on the unit....just the radio -decent audio preferably not modulated -don't need portability outside of the car unless someone can convince me otherwise. -budget roughly $300+ Where would you steer me to hardware wise. I am willing to replace the head unit and don't mind an aux input for an mp3 player.....I just don't need it on the Sirius unit. TIA |

Sony has a line of inexpensive head units that have an AUX in on the front - I have the low end model that also plays MP3s from CDs - sounds a little better than my stock (2003 F150) - I do need new speakers though.
