I watched on NBC Detroit on Rogers - sound was fine. It's not simsubbed by a Canadian station anymore.

I recorded on the NBCW Feed on Monday night. I'm with Cogeco. Sound sucked the big one. Unwatchable in parts.

Like Lando, I found the sound completely wrecked until about halfway through, when it changed to a 4:3 picture and the sound cleared up. This was ABC Seattle via Shaw in Vancouver.

Last night was the season final. Series finale? It did leave the door open, but I haven't read if it's coming back.

I thought the first 3/4s was kinda of brutal. Rudimentary dialogue (I laughed during that line about the monorail going down into the earth), silly plot devices. The ending was okay.

I love plot contrivances. For example, you know the girl is going to disobey her father. You know Miles is going to jump ship. But why was that kid hanging around the house? Why hadn't he left? Why didn't he ask for a ride? Why didn't he steal the car or at least go in the house? It's like he was waiting for someone to show up on a scooter. Pretty funny.

Surface would be good edited down into a four-hour miniseries. I don't see much life left in it though. I have no idea how its ratings are.

What about the girl driving down the highway in the wrong direction with a tsunami coming. The lane going the other direction is a parking lot and nobody moves over and uses her lane! Come on there's a tsunami coming!

I laughed at that too.

I also love how people in movies always stand in front of oncoming cars with their hands held up expecting them to stop. I would not be that brave.

For a Season Finale, I was quite disappointed in the episode.
