Tonight Sportsnet HD is showing an SD broadcast of the NBA game between New Orleans and Houston which is also being shown on Sportsnet East. Sportsnet Ontario is showing the Raptors-Hawks game.
Why is Sportsnet HD not showing the Raptors game, even if it is just an SD upconvert? One possible reason is that they only have regional rights to the game but I thought that all of Canada is now the "region" for the Raptors since the Grizzlies moved. I know that the Raptors vs. Hawks is a battle of two bad teams, but so is Hosuton-New Orleans so it is not like they can expect better ratings from that game. |

I'm not an expert on this but I believe Raptors TV and RaptorsTV-HD are showing the game nationally as opposed to Sportsnet-Ontario which is regional. Also just FYI the game was an SD upconvert feed of sportsnet on Raptors-HD tonight. Too bad not more games in HD!
