What is the best LNB for a 90cm Dish?

Can you get your hands on a Starchoice "flashlight" style LNB? That's what I have on mine and T5 or T6 come in very loud and clear, so to speak. Amazonas also gets in clear.

Double-take.

I just took another look at the dish I have in the garage, and it's a strange beast. It appears to be a dual-lnbf (there are 2 cylindersin a v-shape) with two outputs on each lnbf connected to a 4x2 multiswitch. The multiswitch says it is for "non-stacked" systems.

Would this be considered a Quad-LNBF? I assume that each LNBF only receives on satellite which is why I need the 4x2 switch.

Any thoughts.

I'm not familiar with what signal Primestar were using. The 2 different type of LNB's are Circular and Linear.

The circular type can be placed with very little orientation on your dish. The linear type, you have to position them in a way that the horizontal signal will be matched with the horizontal input of the LNB (inside). Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself for you here.

Instead, tell us what you have for equipment (if any) and tell us what you really are going after. If you like international programming like Arab, Spanish and many more, a fixed antenna pointing at Telstar 5 at 97 degrees will be good enough. If you want the full meal deal from Amazonas (61 degrees) to the Galaxy 13 (at 127 degrees), you would need a 1 meter dish with a motorized system. Hope this helps.

dont have anything yet except the old dishes with lnb's just thought i might check it out if it wasnt too expensive

The invacom QPH031 is a pretty cool lnbf, does linear and circular polarization.

You still have to let us know what are your main interest in FTA. Right now, I am watching 2 birds: T6 for Mexico programming and IA13 for Much Music style station in Dolby 5.1 . Like I wrote before, if international programming is what you are after, a fixed antenna on T5 is enough. To get the full meal deal, motors dish and descent box, be prepared to pay at least, close to $500.....
