If it got bent I'd suggest using a straight edge to align the bowties and reflector mesh. I had my CM4228 fall over at the side of the house one day and I spent an afternoon with needle nose pliers bending it all back into alignment.

You're right about regular tape, but maybe you might want to try 3M double sided mounting tape, which is very, very strong. We used it quite a lot where I work to put up temporary stuff in the labs and then peel it off with a paint scraper and get rid of the residue with acetone (nail polish remover). I think you can find it in Canadian Tire's auto section.
