I had Shaw re-upload the software updates and that still didn't fix the problem.
My service call is in the morning, I'm willing to bet after they mess around with it they'll give up and replace the units.

Default large folder delete appearst to fixed

I'm happy to note that this new firmware seems to fix the longstanding bug where you couldn't delete a folder with more than about 35 episodes without an error and then have to delete episodes manually until you get to around 35. I deleted a folder with about 56 episodes, sweet!

Well, I can safely say my discovered problem of not being able to resume slo-mo or frame advance after the initial use has now been 'fixed'. You can press pause, press 'Fwd' to slo-mo, pause again, use 'Skip' for frame advance or go back into slo-mo if you choose. You still can't do either in reverse but maybe that will come in the next code. One small step at a time I guess.

Anyone else getting a pink screen after this update?

Default 7 or 15 second Skip back?

I seem to be getting a longer 'skip back' now with about 15 seconds rather than the previous 7. The odd thing is, when I use the 'skip back' on a recording from Saturday, it's only about 7 seconds. Then when I use it on a recording from Sunday, it's definitely close to 15 seconds; I timed it with the stop watch function on my smart phone.

I can't imagine this could be tied to the recordings but it somehow is for me with these two recordings anyway.

I tried changing the 'skip' setting to see if it is dependent on that setting but there was no change so maybe the 'skip back' has been increased with this code update.

Has anyone else noticed this or a change overall of the 'skip back' length?

EDIT: fearles, Are you sure this only happened after the update last week or was it happening before then?

Default Update all good

Well my update went through almost flawlessly. I got home on Friday and had to manually update one portal. Took about 2 minutes and things have been running very smooth ever since. I don't notice much of a change in day to day operations except FF and RWD are a bit smoother. I generally don't use them as I prefer to skip. I haven't noticed any new issues. I will check on the skip back and see if mine is longer on new recordings.

My Gateway system is definitely running smoother with the new update since Friday. I am waiting for the private network connection and DLNA features. Let hope that it will happen soon as this update went smoothly without major problem.

I've been away from Thu Aug 16 and returned today. All 3 portals and the gateway have been updated.

On Sunday, my wife went to delete one episode in a folder and says that all but one episode was deleted, so she lost several episodes. This particular show was not on a channel affected by the recent channel moves. Strange?

I see today that all channels are now selected even though I had several hidden/removed from the channel list on the portal that I use the most.

I wonder if this is due to the update, or the channel moves?

I was at work when the tech came today.
She did exactly like I predicted and replaced both the Portal and the Gateway.
So I get home and load up the Installation Tool.
She didn't even update my software, they're both on 7.0.1
I did the updates and everything is working like it should.
Sadly all my settings and recordings left with her.

On a side note, the Gateway now has a new Icon lit up in the bottom right - an antenna.

on your side note, the lit antenna symbol has been on my gateway for the last 9-10 months.

Good to know, e 350 coupe.
I've only had the Gateway system for a couple months now and have never seen it lit.

I was just visiting with one of my friends who has Gateway system installed. For him, this latest code update was so smooth, he didn't know it had happened until I mentioned it to him. His system was running smooth as silk under 7.0.3 and nothing changed with 7.0.4. Lucky guy!

Finally got the 7.0.4 update on the remaining portals. Noticed two other improvements so far:

1. The audio sound effects are now present if you select Dolby Digital audio.
2. The menu button always seems to bring up the menu now rather than sometimes bring up the guide.

Yes! Just now my daughter turned on a TV and the screen was, well, purpley-pink. ;-)

I had to pull the plug on the portal to get it working again. Never had this before.
