Bought a used 9242 and a dish 500 twin lnb with network switch 21. The tv1 works great the tv2 is stuck on one channel, remote control won't work. Got a tip that I still need a sw44 to make the second remote control to work. Anyone know if this is true? THXS GG

Not true at all, the switch has no bearing on Remote Function.
I need clarification on just what you have in regards to Hardware though, a Dish 500 Twin LNBF, has a built in switch, it does not require an SW21 or SW44. Are you running 1 or 2 lines to the 9242.? What is the LNBF/switch type shown when you run a "Check Switch". For the 2nd Remote, ensure the Remote antenna is connected at the rear of the 9242, without it you will certainly struggle big time. EDIT; Did you try the suggestions in the other thread you posted in.? |

Yes antenna has always been hooked up. Bell 9242 receiver, 20" Bell HD Dish 500 Sat. Twin lnb + switch network. Two lines from lnb to back og receiver sat1/sat2. After I read your post looked up sat. instalation. Sat1 good signal Sat 2 no signal. Ran the test both Sats. came back OK. PORT 1/91 2/82 switch twin. Have to reset the receiver several time to get a picture on second tv. Normal screen says " press select to watch". City tv Toronto pops up, remote control lights up, is in Satalite mode but has no effect on receiver. THXS GG
