Default NFL Sunday Ticket 2012-13

I don't see Sunday Ticket on the Shaw web-site for 2012 and haven't received the post card in the mail either. Is Shaw carrying it this year?

Shaw Rep #**** (13:51:57):
Sunday Ticket is usually available for ordering late August, and last year it was $39.95/mth for 4 months, I'd imagine the price will be similar this year

Also Shaw Friends are supposed to get a 15% discount. So I wouldn't be surprised if the base price jumps by 10% over last year, due to Shaw Voodoo economics.

I spoke with a CSR last week who told me they are starting early bird sign up on August 22nd. That is extremely late. Last season was around August 9th. I didn't ask about pricing.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for RedZone, but I highly doubt it will be offered.

Hopefully this news includes info on pricing, the mentioned Shaw Friends discount, and whether or not you'll have the red zone channel.

At the very least we need the option of the red zone channel....it's becoming a "must" for all NFL fans...

Last year was August 22nd. The representative was likely looking at that old information. I'd imagine it will be available around the same time this year though.

MTS has their price released....hopefully shaw's arround the same price or cheaper.

Subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket before August 20, 2012 for $149.00 for the full season. A savings of $50 dollars!

I wonder if NFL Sunday Ticket is worth it any more. With games now on thursday nights, Sunday night, Monday nights, two games each on CBS and Fox networks Sunday morning and afternoon (also on the Chicago feeds), games on CTV, TSN on sundays morning and afternoon, that pretty much covers the gamut of Games. There's nothing left to watch on the NFL Network.

Well, the problem is that a lot of times the same game is being broadcast in a bunch of different channels, so even though you have many channels showing NFL, more often that I would like they are all showing the same game.

Spoke with a Telus CSR and they mentioned that Sunday ticket pricing is 199.00 not including red zone. Red Zone is an extra 50.00. I am curious to see what Shaw does - hopefully it is cheaper so I can pressure Telus.

As was already said, you get the same game on many different channels. You also don't get two games from both FOX and CBS everyweek. They alternate weeks on which channel has a doubleheader. If you are a Fooball junkie who wants to see matchups that aren't the national feature every week, you need the ticket.

This year there will be 50 games on regular channels Wednesday, Thursday (incl. Thanksgiving), Saturday, Sunday Night, and Monday Night, plus a minimum of 51 games Sunday afternoons.

I have seen as many as 6 different games (not including SNF) appear on regular tv on one Sunday, but this is rare, and it depends on what CTV, sportsnet, and City are showing, as well as the timeshift US channels. On average it was probably at least 1.5 games a week extra last year, because one of the US timeshift channels would usually carry at least one different game, but about half the time there would be 2 different games on them. That would be another 25 games or so.

So, when you add it up around half the 256 games will be on regular channels, but as trask stated if you want to see teams that may not be featured every week, it would hold more value.
