Those are all digital channels as far as I know. Not too much analog left out there these days. A few CBC channels (none that I get) and the pirate station Star Ray on 15. I've heard that HDHomeruns can be a little persnickety sometimes, although I have no personal experience with them.

Even with the crazy storms happening, I've been getting Rochester intermittently! Even the VHF ones! They all came in during the afternoon briefly, and now off/on through the weird thunderstorms!
Seeing bits of: (RF10) WHEC, (RF13) WHAM, (RF16) WXXI, (RF28) WUHF, (RF42) W42CO, (RF45) WROC There was some insane looking doppler radar on WHEC's WX subchannel, plus their traffic cam had a spider on it! |

Last night was getting WXXI from Rochester and WSTM and WSYR from Syracuse. Apart from that it was just ION Batavia and WQLN Erie, both of which are almost always there in the summer. I wasn't up too late searching, though. Given the lightning, I played it safe and hauled the C2V inside for the night.

Syracuse and Rochester coming in strong last night. Was watching Olympic coverage on WSTM Syracuse rather than WGRZ Buffalo.

This morning I also had this without even rescanning. WHIZ - Zanesville, Ohio popped up on my samsung as a weak pixelating 40RF and then it remapped to 18.1 It's only 620,000 watts and seems to be a NBC affiliate station in SD.

Aghhh!!! I wasn't even looking for tropo channels this morning. I've had WHIZ Zanesville only once before. Supposed to be pretty good again late tonight and tomorrow morning, so I'll have to have a look.

Heh...Goldielover, while you watched Olympics on WSTM, I was watching on Rochester's WHEC!
Last couple of days Rochester has been pretty strong, including all of the following: WHEC (RF10), WHAM (RF13), WXXI (RF16), WUHF (RF28), W42CO (RF42) and WROC (RF45) At times I was very surprised at how strong WHEC was coming in! Last night I also picked up Peterborough's CFTO-54 repeater on RF35 for the first time! This morning also saw Utica, NY's WKTV (RF29) but Syracuse never made in for me these past couple of days. dheian the reason TVO disappeared when you were getting tropo is because Syracuse has WSYT on RF19. There were a couple of times I caught this when TVO was off the air for transmitter work and it seemed to be a *very* strong signal. (Stronger than WSTM/WSYR from what I saw!) Jealous of the lucky folks who got Zanesville's WHIZ! I'm hoping to catch that before OMNI 2 moves there! |

This morning I was watching Olympics on WKYC Cleveland. So far, I've watched on four different NBC affiliates (Buffalo, Syracuse, Utica and Cleveland). Wonder if I'll pick up any others before the Olympics end.

I hope others were scanning this morning too. Had a number of channels coming in from Indiana, all of which are new for me. These have blown my old distance record out of the water. Was also getting Pittsburgh again, and can now add two more channels to my list of NBC channels I have watched the Olympics on (11.1 WPXI Pittsburgh and 33.1 WISE Fort Wayne).
Here's my list so far: 03.1 WKYC Cleveland 03.2 WXPlus Cleveland 05.1 WEWS Cleveland 05.2 WEWSLWN Cleveland 11.1 WXPI Pittsburgh 11.2 MeTV Pittsburgh 16.1 CHWI-HD Windsor (New) 20.1 WFYI-1 Indianapolis (New) 20.2 WFYI-2 Indianapolis (New) 20.3 WFYI-3 Indianapolis (New) 22.1 WPMY-DT Pittsburgh 22.2 CoolTV Pittsburgh 23.1 ION Akron 23.2 qubo Akron 23.3 IONLife Akron 24.1 WJET Erie 29.1 WTTK Kokomo (New) 29.2 ThisTV Kokomo (New) 33.1 WISE-HD Fort Wayne (New) 33.2 WISE-FX Fort Wayne (New) 35.1 WSEE-DT Erie 35.2 WBEP-DT Erie 45.1 WNEO-D1 Alliance 45.2 WNEO-D2 Alliance 45.3 WNEO-D3 Alliance 45.4 WNEO-D4 Alliance 46.1 WALV-CD Indianapolis (New) 54.1 WQLN-HD Erie 54.2 WQLN-S1 Erie 54.3 WQLN-S2 Erie 55.1 WBNX-HD Cleveland 55.2 WBNX-SD Cleveland 55.3 ThisTV Cleveland 59.1 WXIN Indianapolis (New) 61.1 WQHS Cleveland |

WOWSA Goldielover that's an incredible haul you got there!!! Heh...you should get an Olympic medal in the "Mid-Summer Freestyle Tropo" category
Got to see three different Rochester newscasts tonight all at unique times (WROC, RF45 at 11pm, then WHEC, RF10 at 12AM, then WHAM, RF13 at 1:40am!) Also got the usual WXXI, RF16, WUHF, RF28, and W42CO, RF42. Also seeing bits of Erie (WQLN, RF50, and briefly WJET RF24) and Utica (WKTV, RF29.) Also catching CKNX from Wingham in analog on RF8 occasionally these days! Keep up the great results everybody! |
