Both the 9200 and the 9241 are using the exact same optical input and cable. I've just pulled the 9200 out and replaced it with the 9241. Just for fun, I tested the 9200 again and it's perfectly fine, swapped out the 9200 with the 9241 and the same low volume issue. I can up the input volume on my A/V, but that does not make sense and may overload the input and most of the inputs are at the same level. Definitely a receiver issue.

Hi i have a 9241, when i plug in my second cable to tuner 2 from the sw44 switch it starts searching for signal, but when i unplug it had just have my cable in tuner 1 it works fine just no pvr recording. I have tried placing the cable from 1 in 2 and same problem, iam guessing it is the receiver as i get signal from 1 but not 2, does Bell cover warrenty on a receiver thats 2 years old or is there a way to just set the receiver to record on turner 1 and i will live without the dual tuner.

Can you confirm one detail, you say you have one line coming from your SW44, and your moving it to port 2....may I ask why you don't have two lines coming from your SW44 for proper operation of the 9241 dual tuner receiver?
Or if I have misunderstood do you have two lines and your swapping them around because one of them appears to be failing ? |

The only way it is covered uner warranty is if is a Rental unit.
As for the problem, I would be checking for some kind of voltage on the line. Is there another line/s you can try the receiver on.? Bell do offer refurbished units for about $149 if you contact them. |

I don't think you can. I believe that the time is set according to the time zone your address is in.

Hi,
I had this done a week ago (Bell installation) and my remote control sensitivity is poor. Sometimes buttons work ok other times they don't work at all. If I go closer to the receiver performance is much better but not perfect. I am having a new remote sent to me but not sure whether the problem is with the present remote ('SAT' always lights up) or with the receiver itself. Anybody have a similar experience? Thanks |

Check out the following thread on IR interference. Some STBs are more sensitive than others:

Just got my 9241 in exchange for my old 9200. Already sending it back as it seems to turn on by itself all the time. Every day I go into my tv room the receiver is on. I have no pre-recorded or timed shows as it's brand new. Tech support couldn't figure it out.

Change the address on the remote. You have interference in a close vicinity.
Hit menu menu on the remote. Should bring up a screen that shows your receiver number smart card number a few other numbers and your remote address. Hit a random number other than the one that's already there 01 = 1 02 = 2 and so on. Could be 10 11 12 2 3 anything other than what it already is. Then hit record. The number should change and you know you've changed the address. Problem should be solved. |

Don't forget to hold down the SAT button on the remote until all 4 buttons at the top flash, then press 01 or 02 or 03, etc. Then press RECORD.

My 9241 started experiencing an issue over night Monday in which it freezes during the recording of what appears to be HD content. This has happened 3 times so far. As of yet it hasn't happened during the recording of SD content and it isn't happening when recording all HD content. The other issue is that when I try to do the reset it gets to the 5 step satellite sync step and hangs there a lot. In some instances it will get through the steps in just a few seconds which is normal but could take up to an hour and in other cases it just can't get through this step. I have tried unplugging the unit for 30 minutes and then left it unplugged all night and that has no affect. When the unit does reset it is always after multiple attempts.
Has anyone experienced this before and if so what was the solution? I'm thinking the unit will probably need replaced. I did a check switch and everything is good as is my signal strength. Thanks, Rod |
