Is it saying anything else?
Do you have a sw44 installed? Have you tried running a check switch? ( Menu #6 #1 #1) |

yes have a sw44 switch installed along with a inline booster. The weather has not been the greatest the past few weeks, been losing HD channels. Was thinking about moving 82 to its seperate dish so i can fine tune both sats. Would losing signal give me this error code? Maybe just need a fine tuning? they been up there for over 3 years

Inline booster.?
If the distance is too great then you would need 4 boosters, one for each line. What else does it say on screen with Error 004.? |

ya an inline booster came with my 9200 package it goes a foot after the sw44 switch on line 1 out. From the dish to the sw44 (in the house it about 25 feet and then to the reciever its another 25 feet at most. The error says 004 please hold power down for 10 secs to continue viewing. Right now my signal is 82 100% and 91 is 78%. Its been fine for the last 2 days now, the weather has been better im guessing its the weather. Still thinking about separating the satellites so i can fine tune the sats.

That is NOT an inline booster, it is a Power Inserter and is required to provide power to the SW44.
If you have run several "Check Switch's", I would run another with NO cables connected at the receiver. It will put the receiver back to its default state. Then connect the lines and run the "Check Switch" again. |

ok i did a check switch with no cables , and i got and better signal 86% on 91 on now and still 100% on 82. As soon as i turned a station in the HD channels i got the error again 004 turn channel or else press power button, i click on help it says contact bell expressvu. I turn channel everything is fine now. i check signal again when this happened and i had 100% on 82 which is HD sat.
Any other ideas? |

Can you watch pre-recorded shows.?
It could still be an SW44 failure. Do you have other receivers.? Maybe bring them to the 9200 location and test each line one by one. |

Are you sure you have it wired up correctly (i.e. was it ever working) and the power inserter is installed in the correct location (on the correct side of the switch) and has power?

ok so i had the same varient of the problem. I could view some channels, but when i changed the channel i would lose the signal. I have 2 other recievers that have absolutely no problem whatsoever. Here was my fix
go into menu. Press #6, #1, #1 to get to your signal status. now go in and view details. What you should see is a page with 2 charts. Signal 1 and signal 2. Underneath should tell you if there is a readable signal. below that should say signal aquired. Below that should say sw44. mine said None. Meaning the receiver had not yet paired with the switch. so no go in and run a signal test. It takes about 5-10 minutes. This should pair the receiver with your switch. It fixed my problem. However, if the test comes back flagging any transponders it could mean your switch is failing or is caput. first thing you should do is run the test and make sure the receiver is getting all signals. if it's not it's likely your switch or your cables. Least likely your cables, more likely to be your switch. NOW if your odd numbers are coming back as an issue it's your sat 1 section of the switch that's gone. alternately if it's the even transponders that are the issue it's the sat 2 that's the problem. In which case call your provider. But do the test first so you dont waste 75 dollars. hope this helps or even gives you an idea of what to tell tech support so they can swiftly fix your problem. have a good day and let me know how you make out. |

SomeLameName: Do you know that the 9200 is obsolete and will need to be exchanged? See the following thread - read post 1.
