Might be the wrong area but just bought a 4250 after taking some time off from the hD universe - got tired of the poor quality on streamed stuff on computer.
So I have a 5 year old Samsung DLP with component in which I use most often and hdmi which I want to use.
I understand there are some DRM issues now with the older HD screens.
Does this situation come into play on the output of the 4250 ( either HDmi or component )?
I noticed the image looked terrific the first day but seems degraded now and there is some audio noise as well.
I'm getting a BR player of some sort shortly and want to preempt any DRM issues with that as well.

some people had HDCP issues using the HDMI cables, but if you happen to be unlucky and experience this, you can easily switch to the analog hd component cables and this should alleviate the issue, because hdcp does not communicate through component signals. Hope This Helps

Hi, my father purchased a 4250 HD box about 3 years ago and I hooked it up with component cables that Rogers supplied. Everything has been working fine till 6 months ago. Whenever he watches CBS or ABC channels, he sees the picture but there is no sound. It is only these stations that this happens whether it is on SD or HD. He has unplugged the box to reset it but the problem is still there. He did not make any changes in cables and it is not split.
My brother has a tv in the basement and he does not have this problem.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
