Default Sony Ear buds

I was at Costco last week, and they were selling a two-pack of Sony ear buds for $39.95 . I'm not impressed with the ear buds that came with my iPhone , so I bought 'em.

I was really suprised. What a difference ! Great bass and overall sound compared to the basic ear buds. I never listened to music much before because of the crappy sound. But I use these ear buds a lot. I gave the set to my wife .She likes them too.
Best $20 (x2) I've spent in a while...

Don't know the specific model I have but I picked some up at one of the big chains store last winter for about $30-$35.

I must agree with you. They are extremely comfortable and I was surprised by the quality of the sound - although I do mostly listen to podcasts.

I'm glad you're enjoying them, Biggles. Nearly any 3rd-party earbud/headphone/IEM is an upgrade over the basic white iPod model. Now to convert the masses...

First thing I do when a friend or colleague gets a new iPod/iPhone is tell them to store away the included earbuds (as a backup pair) and go spend $20+ on a decent pair of headphones.

Default earphones

I think those came with a volume control. Do you find it useful or a nuisance?

I use the volume control on the iPhone. Not a problem..
The bud volume control just has low/mid/high settings.
