I have searched and not been able to find a definitive answer.
Just got a 605 to replace an old 401. Also still running a 401 and several 505's. Called for activation this weekend - only vertical signals are coming in on the 605 - both F1 and F2. I suggested v-code was wrong. CS for SD went for advice. Came back and said my Dual stacked dish was unsupported on the 605 and I needed an XKu lnb. I have seen threads and posts here and elsewhere indicating it works fine. What gives? Do I need to get on them and tell them to just fic the v-code or are they correct and I need new dish hardware and a re-working of all my cabling which I am concerned would be a nightmare. Currently two coax lines running from the dish to an equipment room and then distributed. long lines and lots of finished drywall. |

Just keep dialing until you get an actual "knowledgable" SD TSR

Its not incompatible, it is just they aren't bothering making an MPEG4 V-code that will work on a stacked dish, and are refusing to apply non MPEG-4 V-codes on 6xx receivers.
Bottom line, to use your 6xx receiver fully, your LNBF needs changed to a X-Ku, which is a quad type. They eventually want people to be able to get G1 anyways. |

Like the OP, I will ultimately be forced to upgrade to the new lnb and be required to run cables all over the place or install a multi-switch at the dish. Perhaps a referral to the retentions department and some gentle diplomacy might help in the short term especially now that the new satellite launch has been delayed until the end of the year. |

All they can do is
1: offer to upgrade the LNBF. It may be free, but there may be extra costs for extra wiring. 2:Give the 6xx receivers an old V-code, leaving off at least MPEG4 channels. |
