Quick update.
In an email to Sony I mentioned there's no Sony store here, so they replied they'd send an e-coupon which can be used online. Sounds good, but they sent a gift card (only good at a store) instead which means either send it back and wait 2 weeks for a replacement or travel 140KM to the nearest Sony store. I also mentioned the price difference in the email and the reply was we don't price match and yet on the Sony website it suggests a phone call for better pricing. ![]() Because I couldn't pursue an online purchase with the gift card I left it at that. As luck has it, the price on the HX750 dropped 400 bucks lately so I phoned the Edmonton store and the manager said they have one and come on up and he'd work with me on the shipping. Nice guy, gave me the online shipping price ($50.00) which is less than his normal in-city rate of $70.00. In a day or two Purolator should be knocking at my door with a nice new TV.

...and finally. Got the TV the next day!!! NICE!!!!!!!!
Sony sent "how did we do" type surveys. I complained about the lack of e-coupon and pricing. They sent a 25 dollar e-coupon for my next purchase just for completing the survey. I'll take that.

Since early April my five year old SXRD (KDS60-A2000) has been flashing a warning message at powerup that the bulb is nearing the end of its life. It is now Sept. and aside from taking about 5 extra seconds to reach full brightness it is working fine. Has anyone else had this experience? I do have a spare bulb but am waiting it out to see just how long the bulb will continue to work. Has anyone else done this? If so how long did the bulb last after the message appeared? Thanx.

I'm pretty sure that warning is just set on a timer based on the hours of operation. The bulb could fail anytime so I'd just use it until the picture starts to look worse.

I have a KDS-50A2000 with this issue and have been told by Sony that I'm SOL and need to pay for service. Should I just call back and speak with another agent? I called 877-899-SONY

Sony Service/Warranty reps can sometimes be hit and miss. Try calling back again and see if you get any further with a different rep. If you give them your email address, or just email them with the same questions, they will follow up with a 'how did we do' type of email and you can restate your issues there. That seems to go back to a different department and I found I got the desired response once I had completed their 'questionnaire'. Remember to be polite while relating your frustration with the issues and dealing with the first rep.

I called back and got another rep who was more helpful. He had me send in various pictures and said I should be hearing back in about 10 days. He alluded to getting a gift card for the Sony store, so we'll see what happens.
