Default iPod Settings Question

I have an iPod 4G and my home wi-fi unit is a TP-LINK_POCKET_3020
What should the iPod be set to? Lately it hasn't been working.

A regular iPod won't connect to the internet. Do you mean an iPod Touch?

The following two steps have worked for me.

1 Tap on wifi. Tab on the arrow to the right of the SSID that is giving you problems. Near the bottom is the page is a button to Renew Lease. Tap on that wait a minute. Check the connection.

2 If that doesn't work, do a hard reset. (Hold down the home button and power button. The screen will show the red "turn off" slider. Keep holding. The screen will eventually go black. Keep holding. Then the Apple logo will be displayed. Release the buttons.)

These steps almost always work for me. If not, I reset the router.

+1 for the post by Mexicanuck. We have to iPhone 3Gs, and there have been times that the only way to get them working again properly is to do a full reboot.

Apple devices are more stable than Windows, usually, but even these need the occasional reset.

i found with my ipod, the best way was to just give it a static IP, in the subnet that your DHCP server is working, but outside the range it's handing out
