Default VOIP numbers in Cobourg or Port Hope

I'm trying to find a provider that can offer a Cobourg or Port Hope exchange number for VOIP. Seems that no companies offer one.

Anyone have an explanation for why no one seems to offers this?

Thanks.

I can't believe voip.ms could do it. But i checked, no dice, they do have Brighton. If you have a PH or Cobourg exchange you could port that number over to VOIP.ms.

Does no one in Port Hope or Cobourg have VOIP? Although I do have it, I brought it with me when I moved to the area from Oshawa, but it's still an Oshawa phone number.

Any ideas how to get a Port Hope or Cobourg number with VOIP?

So, it appears obvious now that VOIP DID numbers are unavailable in Port Hope / Cobourg.

According to support at Vonage, the infrastructure is not in place for VOIP. Does that mean that Bell must make some changes, locally, before anyone can offer VOIP?

^^^^ Likely the VOIP carrier lacks the infrastructure or connectivity at the Bell central office serving these areas.

VOIP carriers probably don't have services in these regions for several reasons: Lack of population, cost to bring services there, low high-speed internet availability, etc.

Wild guess.. but why can you not port a wireless number??

As I understand it number portability applies to VoIP, landlines and wireless...

Worth to explore it
