Hi everyone,
When my PVR (Motorola DCX3400M) is connected directly by HDMI cable to my TV (Panasonic TH-42PD60) then it functions OK, does NOT (only the audio gets through) if it’s indirectly through a HDMI switcher. Two other devices do work well through this HDMI switcher (Aluratek 4 port HDCP compliant on paper) feeding my TV that has only one HDMI input. As Panasonic says: “If your external cable box or satellite receiver does not have the latest HDCP licensing then you will experience issues when using the HDMI connection.” could this be the case and is there any way to check this? Thanks |

I would suspect the switch since the STB works fine directly. Here's the FAQ on HDMI Issues, things to check, etc.
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=71112 You don't mention what the other two devices are, but they may not use HDCP. Also have you tried connecting the STB using the cables/ports that work OK with those (other) devices through the switch? Sometimes the issue can be a cable or port on the switch.

Thank you for answering.
I don't even know how but it works now with the switcher. I just gave it a try, having changed the TV from CV/Cable input to HDMI and turned the STB on. The reason for preffering the HDMI because this way can avoid extra steps when using my other two devices (Blu-Ray and upconverting DVD recorder/payer). Last edited by 57; 2012-06-21 at 04:59 PM.
