Hello,
it has been a long time since I have put my CNX duo to a good use as FTA channels I used to get were no longer in service. Today, I found that KBS world is available for free on Galaxy 18. The biggest size dish I have right now is a 80cm fortec star dish (33"?). I also have a starchoice dish that is 32 inches wide (oval). I reside in Calgary. I have got some signal (~35%) in a cloudy day (using a fortec dish), but no channels were scanned using blind scan. I don't even know if I am pointing to the right sat right now as no sat info comes up due to the low signal. I am using LNB frequency of 10750 using the Galaxy 10R settings (the receiver is old, so doesn't have the tp list for Galaxy 18). Is the dish too small for the purpose? Or is there anything I can do to get more signal? thank you. |

not sure if the link will work, but give it a try, make sure the Galaxy 18 Ku Band Footprint is selected, then zoom in to Calgary, should give you a minimum recommended dish size for that area. I think it said at least 90 cm
and of course bigger would be better. http://www.satbeams.com/footprints?l...name=Temporary

Dish looks more like 8ft. You could fit a universal LNB (C and Ku) on it. Such LNBs are available on our sponsor's site: www.drsat.ca
I have the BSC621-2D and it works good. Cheers, K

This channel used to be unencrypted but not so anymore. I have updated our channel list accordingly. If you are looking for Korean channels, take a look at Intelsat 9 @ 58W on C-band. Your mesh dish would work fine for this satellite.

Oh... really??? that's too bad ..
thank you for letting me know. I guess it is a good thing that I didn't buy another dish... DrSat// Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that picture was from kijiji that I was thinking of picking up! But it seems the channel I want on that sat is encrypted anyways. I think another option is go get AMC 1 which has MBC, but it requires 6 foot dish & a receiver to get c band. I don't think CNX duo does c band, does it? p.s. MBC does not show up on your channel list as FTA.. but lyngsat does. Is this encrypted as well? thank you~ |
